Drivers should contact Ourisman Ford of Alexandria as soon as possible for resolution

At Ourisman Ford of Alexandria, we never like making announcements like this, but it's part of our responsibility and commitment to ensuring the safety and driving enjoyment of our valued customers.

Yesterday, June 14, 2021, Ford issued a safety recall affecting select 2021 F-Series Super Duty models with dual rear wheels. The affected vehicles have front-wheel hub extenders that may not have been properly tightened by the supplier. This creates a hazard, as it may result in the tire and wheel assembly detaching from the front axle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford has already started notifying owners of the recall action, which pertains to 17,616 vehicles in the U.S. and federal territories, 1,779 in Canada, and 231 in Mexico.

Owners are instructed not to drive their vehicle until the front-wheel hub extender nuts are verified to be tightened to specification. Drivers in Alexandria, Arlington, Mount Vernon, Clinton, MD, Fort Washington, MD, and Oxon Hill, MD, should contact Ourisman Ford of Alexandria as soon as possible. Affected owners can have their vehicle issue fixed at their location or towed to a dealership. We can also provide instructions to owners with proper equipment tools. The Ford reference number for this recall is 21S26.

If you have any questions about the recall, please don't hesitate to contact us so that we can have you up and running again as soon as possible.
