When Should You Get an Alignment?

You should get a vehicle alignment every 6,000 miles. This is because your wheels will go out of alignment as you drive, and you'll have to schedule the service to bring them back into alignment. It's important because whether it's driving around town, on the highway, or in various road conditions, you want your vehicle's wheels and tires touching the road properly.

The benefits of an alignment help reduce treadwear, much like a tire rotation would, but it also keeps efficiency higher, as your wheels are at the right degree and angle and not misaligned. Some signs you'll need an alignment include:

• Your vehicle pulls in one direction or another while driving, which means you have to correct it when steering, even in a straight line
• You don't have centered steering, or the handling feels loose when driving
• If you see rapid tire wear on one or more wheels, that might mean a misalignment, and you should get it checked, particularly if you're on top of your tire rotations
